New Medicine for Itchy Dogs!

We are excited to be one of the first veterinary clinics in Lee County to offer a great new medication!!

For some of our furry friends, there exists an itch that we just can’t scratch! Whether it’s due to pollen, plants, fleas, or some unknown allergen, dogs can develop dry itchy skin that deserves some medical attention! Some of our canine companions may be on an oral medication, Apoquel, that helps with itchiness. These small tablets can be given once or twice a day, depending on the dosage recommended by your veterinarian.

In the past few weeks, the makers of Apoquel have just launched a new alternative that may be more effective for certain dogs! This new medicine is an injection that can be given monthly by your veterinarian. This saves you the hassle of giving pills everyday! In addition, this medication may be effective in dogs that have not previously responded to Apoquel!

If you would like to learn more about this medication, please give us a call! As itchy dog owners ourselves, we are excited to give this medication a try on our own pets.
